Why do we need to detox?
Quite simply we are surrounded by toxins. We absorb them from our environment - in the air that we breathe, the food that we eat and even in the water that we drink. Add to this lifestyle choices and the body is inundated with toxins. When toxins reach high levels, the body will then treat everything as a toxin even supplements and medications that you may be taking to try and lower those toxin levels, the only way forward is to then try and remove toxins from the system and start afresh.
Fasting is nature’s way of effecting healing from within: during fasting various body processes change leading to consumption of body fat, some protein and most importantly and preferentially, helps with the elimination of toxins. During the detox process you may experience some normal detox symptoms, these can include headaches, tiredness and irritability - especially if you are also trying to combat smoking at the same time. We are here to help you through every step of the detox both physically and emotionally. Our aim is that by the end of your retreat you will leave here feeling cleansed, lighter, mentally clearer and feel that you have more energy.
