COLONIC HYDROTHERAPY
Colonic hydrotherapy
helps cleanse the colon of
toxins, gas, accumulated matter
and mucous deposits. Warm
water is gently introduced
into the rectum, which progressively
softens and expels faecal
matter and compacted deposits.
Such techniques were first
recorded in 1500BC and have
been used in traditional and
naturopathic medicine since
that time. Colonic hydrotherapy,
unlike laxatives, is not habit
forming and actually improves
the tone of the colon.
What is involved?
Using sterile equipment,
filtered water at a carefully
regulated temperature is introduced
under gentle gravitational
pressure through the rectum
using a small tube into the
colon. The water begins to
cleanse the colon of faecal
matter, parasites and old
deposits, which are piped
away with the waste water.
Working progressively around
the structure of the colon
the therapist allows water
alternatively to flow in and
then release. Herbal infusions
can be added to relax the
colon or disperse gas.
The process should be painless
(some people may experience
slight cramping) and it takes
up to one hour. In general
people feel instantly better,
clear and refreshed.
Why have a Colonic?
Waste material that is stuck
in the colon can cause many
problems. It can be quite
toxic, and these toxins enter
the blood stream making us
feel ill, tired or weak. Typical
symptoms of being toxic are
bad skin, bad breath, body
odour, bloating, wind, headaches,
lack of energy and a general
feeling of being un-well.
Impacted materials also impair
the colon’s ability
to absorb minerals and nutrients.
The build up of matter can
inhibit the movement through
the bowel which can cause
constipation and other associated
problems.
Some of the conditions that
can be greatly improved by
having Colonic hydrotherapy
include:
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Constipation
Diverticulosis
Circulatary Problems
Back and Joint Pain
Boosting the Immune System
Weight Problems
